A 7,000-km cycle trip is about to start for this heroine from Vicenza. Pesavento is backing this venture in support of the Oncology Department of San Bortolo Hospital in Vicenza
Loretta Pavan is an example to us all. A woman capable of great deeds, who turned her life around after illness, and who supports research by undertaking sporting challenges, with the help of some enlightened entrepreneurs.
So what’s her next venture? It starts on August 3, and the idea is to give Italy a symbolic embrace:
“We’re going to ride round the entire perimeter of Italy, including the islands, in just 40 days. It’s a symbolic embrace for our country, which has been so severely tested in recent months.”

A 7,000-km ride around Italy to support the Vicenza Oncology department: “Behind every problem, there’s always an opportunity.” Loretta came up with the idea of this adventurous trip, “We Embrace Italy“, hoping to finish it in 40 days. She’ll be starting from Vicenza, then cycling through the Dolomites and Liguria, and on to Civitavecchia and across to Sardinia; then down to Reggio Calabria and over to Sicily, and back along the Adriatic coast.
“It’s a message of hope and a return to basics: breathing in a feeling of freedom, of attachment to our roots and awareness of our identity. We live in the most beautiful country in the world, and it’s our duty to celebrate that in every way: we’ll do it with stories and photos of all the loveliest parts of Italy. We’re going to follow all the safety rules when we embark on this adventure. It will be a great undertaking, and you can follow our progress every day on my Facebook page: www.facebook.com/PavanLoretta”.

“I fight for myself and for others“- Loretta supports the Amici del 5 Piano (www.amicidelquintopiano.it), , a group of volunteers who help current and former cancer patients and their families.
“This trip is in aid of the “Servizio Psicologico Empatico Solidale“, an outpatient clinic set up to offer psychological support to cancer patients and their families. During the health emergency, there was an increase in anxiety caused by fear of contracting Covid-19, and this can have the effect of compromising the immune system. There has been more demand for psychological support, and it became vital to extend the hours for these services, in particular those for Dr. Paola Onestini’s clinic in the Oncology Unit.”

Loretta is a bit of a dreamer. “Yes, that’s true, and Pesavento jewellery does allow women to dream. I feel in harmony with the designs, the philosophy, and the message it conveys. These collections are designed for determined women who do not give up easily, and this is exactly how I see myself: to such an extent that I wear Pesavento jewellery at any time of day, even when I’m training!“
